The EXUMAS, please contact us for future dates. All current charters from 2022 and beyond are based out of our favorite destination, Abaco.

These unspoiled “out islands” of the Bahamas define the Exumas. Your vacation begins in Coral Harbour (Nassau) and from there we go sailing! One of our longer sails, across a protected shallow bank makes for a comfortable crossing. They are known for their warm tropical climate, favorable trade winds, and dotted with uninhabited cays. Countless reefs make this the ideal place to enjoy these underwater gems of the Bahamas. Swim with nurse sharks, visit a wild iguana island, walk remote beaches, or just relax on the bow of the boat. These remote islands are home to the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, where exploring by land and its pristine underwater beauty will be a highlight of your trip.

From 2022  and beyond all of our trips are into and out of Abacos. The Abacos have recovered from the hurricane and we are very happy to be back in our favorite cruising areas.

~ Our 7 day private Exuma Island Charter caters to one Couple ~

This charter includes all breakfast, lunch, dinners except 1 lunch and 2 dinners ashore, supporting the local establishments.

Charter is in and out of Staniel Cay, Exuma, Bahamas.

Extra persons additional cost and children welcome. Maximum 4 people on all charters

The Exumas offers beautiful sailing routes with so many desired locations. Our daily itinerary is weather dependent, but the highlights we like to cover always include seeing the world famous swimming pigs, Pipe Creek, remote islands, pristine beaches, indigenous iguana habitats, swimming with the Compass Cay nurse sharks, diving the Grotto, snorkeling, paddleboarding, spearfishing, and if time allows a sail to the Exuma Land & Sea Park.  Any personal requests we will certainly add that into the itinerary! We adjust schedule according to your arrival & departure time, if time allows for more sailing, snorkeling, exploring we will do so!

Anna and Evan 8 day trip, Abaco to Eleuthera,
    January 2018

Our time on Mahi with Jess and Brad was an unforgettable and perfect adventure.  From the moment you step onto their dingy, to get whisked away to your new home, life slows down, and let’s be honest, gets better.  Brad and Jess provide everything you would need for the time of a lifetime, and their expertise on the water and on their boat allows for the flexibility to guarantee a good time, regardless of the conditions.   Our crossing was smooth, our meals were fresh, and every single day was extraordinary.  Mahi comes equipped with SUP boards, snorkel fins, fishing equipment, and two adventurous souls that know how to have a good time.  I’ve never slept better, eaten better, or lived better as we did during our week on Mahi.  Book the trip, you will not regret it!  –  Anna and Evan

    Exumas to Nassau

Chartering Sail Mahi for my birthday trip was one of the best travel decisions I’ve ever made. My fiance and I had the pleasure of sailing with Captain Brad and Jessica for two weeks in the Exumas. Although we had previously sailed the Exumas two years ago, Brad and Jessica are so knowledgeable and familiar with the Bahamas that they were able to take us to some very off-the-beaten path, super cool, secret locations; one of which yielded two enormous lobsters. We also got to spend the night on the hook at pirate’s lair. Reading pirate stories by moonlight was a moment I’ll never forget. Although Mahi is over 20 years old, she is impeccably maintained, updated, super clean and comfortable. One of my favorite and most appreciated luxuries is the delicious drinking water, compliments of the onboard water maker and filtration system; this is a HUGE deal if you’ve ever sailed without good drinking water! Other awesome features are the push-button flush toilet, stand-up shower, and the super comfy custom lounger on the upper rear cockpit area. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the super-chill vibe on Mahi, due largely to Brad and Jessica’s synergy and teamwork. Their hospitality is outstanding and priceless. They really went above and beyond to make us feel special. One such instance was when they got one of their cruiser friends to bake me a birthday cake (on their grill), which is quite difficult to pull off on a boat! Then they threw me a bonfire beach birthday party and about a dozen cruiser friends showed up to help us celebrate. As far as safety is concerned, we felt we were in excellent hands the entire time. Weather and sea conditions were constantly monitored and the Captain always picked amazing anchorages that were appropriate for the conditions. If you’re looking for a uniquely special vacation that you’ll never forget, I HIGHLY recommend charting #sailmahi.

    Ramos Family – February 12- 19 2022

    Captain Brad and Jessica,

The Ramos family would like to thank you for such a wonderful week at the Abacos on Mahi.  Despite the weather not cooperating for a couple of days you made changes to the itinerary and our family vacation was unforgettable, outstanding, and memorable.

Captain Brad – thank you for teaching our son and myself to spear lobsters, fish, and harvesting conch.  Also, for making our son the Designated Dingy Drive (DDD. . . .)  He had a blast driving the dingy and having the responsibility for driving us around.

Jessica – thank you for your hospitality and bend over backward attitude to cater to our needs.  Also for volunteering to be our personal photographer (and a very good one).  Thank you for the little details that made our vacation wonderful.

Our trip was full of adventures that we would never have been able to create on our own because of your intimate knowledge of the Abacos and your sailing expertise.  We would not hesitate to go back sailing with Captain Brad and Jessica.  We know we would have a wonderful time again.

Thank you for the new friendship and we hope to stay in touch!

    January 16th- 22nd 2022

We had the pleasure of being hosted by Brad and Jess in January 2022 in the Abaco’s on Mahi. This was our first time on a charter boat for a trip and our experience was absolutely incredible. Brad and Jess are experts and know exactly what they are doing and where the best hot spots are to take their guest. If we had to pick, our favorite experience was when Brad and Jess took us to Hope Town. Hope Town was our first stop and wow, was it amazing! Brad and Jess had electronic bikes which was by far the best way to explore the island. There were amazing private beaches, great restaurants, and colorful homes. Hit up St. James at noon. That is when the church bells go off and they are inspiring. After Hope Town, every destination had something different to offer from sand bars to jaw dropping snorkeling. We even had the opportunity to hunt for lobster and conch. Every island they took us to had the most private beaches, we were the only ones there! The local island bars were so fun and we made the best memories there! At the end of the trip, we got to celebrate Captain Brad’s birthday in Hope Town with all their fellow Young Cruisers. IT WAS SO FUN!

Brad and Jess are true professionals and know exactly what they are doing. There is no better way to experience the Bahama’s!

P.S. Y’all find some time and come visit us in South Texas. Take care!

Truly Breathtaking trip that exceeded my expectations!!! My husband secretly tried to book this trip for our anniversary (under my account)…even though I found out, Captain Brad and Jessica kept me in “awe” everyday with the activities, cocktail hour (the best Pina Coladas ever), yummy snacks, Jessica’s fresh and delicious meals, and many more little surprises throughout the day and trip. Communication: The communication throughout the whole booking and stay was outstanding, with a quick response to any questions and concerns, they taught us some nautical terms, “funny” nautical terms and had us help out with learning how to put up the sail if we wanted to and helped us gain more knowledge about the Bahamas as a whole and the places we were exploring. Jessica and Captain Brad are both amazing and humble individuals, that would get along with anyone. They are very enthused and it shows that they LOVE what they do. They are very savvy about the Bahamas area, the boat (knowing the wind and tides) and knowing what adventure/activity would be best to do for each particular day. They gave us many ideas on what we could do and in learned what are interests were to make the best plan for us everyday. They did a wonderful job dividing the day with “play” time exploring and some time for us to relax. Let me tell you… They planned it Perfectly EVERYDAY!! Accommodations and Adventure: The Catamaran Mahi was very relaxing with many places to nap, lounge, sleep and relax. The queen size bed was very comfortable with a fan on each foot of the bed, the bathroom was surprisingly very spacious and we had our own fridge and galley area with snacks and drinks that Jessica kept stocked at all times! The day trips included snorkeling, paddle boarding, swimming with pigs, swimming with sharks, spearfishing, visiting famous sites and sandbars, and even luckily being part of a “cruiser party”. I can’t say enough about this experience, before even leaving I was already thinking of all our family and friends that would Enjoy this trip and I was also thinking of planning our next trip at the Mahi! Our 7 year anniversary felt like our 2nd honeymoon. We loved it! Thank YOU!

Our family typically takes 2 trips a year aboard Mahi. A long weekend and a weeklong Bahamas family vacation. Brad and Jess are warm, welcoming, and great with our kids! They make it so easy to be around and comfortable for everyone, we can’t thank them enough for their patience with our children. We are a sailing family, our 2 boys are competitive youth sailors. What’s so exciting is on Mahi they get the “big” boat experience. Captain Brad lets them hoist the sails, steer the helm, and make trim adjustments. Tanner even gets to be the Captain of the Dinghy, so fun! Mahi has everything we need, the boat is comfortable, fantastic beds and bedding, a mini fridge and private bath for just us. Jessica prepares great meals, anytime we might need a snack, its readily available or being served before us. And the toys, they have everything you need to keep our kids active and entertained- water scooters, paddleboards, snorkel gear, fishing gear.. oh and sleeping on the bow, under the stars at anchor, what a treat something our boys will always cherish! A huge impression they have made on us not just in their hospitality is their local knowledge of where we go and what we do. We explore remote beaches, learn to crack conch, snorkel pristine reefs, have campfires on secluded islands, experiences we talk about for years! And keeps us coming back year after year, excited for the next Mahi adventure ⛵️ We’ve had so much fun cruising the coast of Florida with them, we can’t wait till they can start operating out of the Abaco again!

Bib, Amy, Hunter, and Courtney-3 day trip – Abaco December 2018

“I don’t even know where to start. My wife and I have traveled the world and this was the best trip we have ever been on. The accommodation were amazing! I was worried about sleeping and made being uncomfortable but I quickly learned that I could have stayed on the boat for 10 days and been more rested than being at home. Jess and Caption Brad were awesome host. They proved the perfect balance of interaction and were super thoughtful on making our trip the best possible. We did as much or as little as we wanted. They made us feel like locals and we went to spots and did things that only someone that is knowledgeable and as thoughtful would do. Not to mention the food on the boat was 10x better than anything we ate on shore. Jess and Brad are truly passionate about what they do and it shows. This experience was so good that we are already thinking about when we can go back. I could say so much more but I don’t won’t to spoil the trip for the next guest. A+ in every way imaginable and have already highly recommended this trip to many friends!”

    Renee and Steven – 10 Days – Abaco – January 2019
This trip far exceeded our expectations. I will say, with complete honesty, that this honeymoon adventure trumped our wedding. My husband and I were the only guests aboard Mahi for eight nights and nine days. We began in Marsh Harbor and every day we sailed to a different island and town in the Abacos. Jess and Brad taught us the history and background of each place we visited, it was too cool getting to know these memorable towns. These towns can be explored by foot OR electric bike I might add. There is a surplus of activities to be had while on Mahi, paddle boarding, conch and lobster hunting (with spears guns!), reading on the bow, taking the dingey out to explore, snorkeling, and so many other things. It is basically impossible to get bored, think of Neverland meets Discovery Zone on water. The guests cabins are equipped with queen sized beds, and plenty of storage. Guests have their own mini-fridges and storage in the galley for extra room; this leads directly to the head (restroom), that has all the essentials. There are views from the toilet and full-size shower. THAT is luxury. I get motion sickness when I am a passenger in 90% of moving vehicles, I have a purse with prescription anti-nausea medicine and every type of Dramamine sold. I only took preventatives to be on the safe side, but I earned my sea legs pretty quickly. DO NOT let sea sickness stop you, Mahi is a catamaran that does not sail fast, and there are areas on the boat that can help you relax during a bumpy ride. The food and drinks are dream-worthy. Brad’s piña coladas should be award winning, and Jess can whip up 5-star meals in a galley kitchen in less than an hour, even for this picky eater, her food was fantastic. There is also their Mahi Smash, that is good at any time of the day, with all food groups. Jessica and Brad are the warmest, most likable, fun-loving people to be around, and it was truly like winning the hosts lottery. On our last “dinner night alone”, we really just wanted to hangout with Jess and Brad, they were more fun than any romantic dinner on any island. We played BINGO with other captains at Cap n’ Jacks, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. There are no captains more trust-worthy, smart, funny, and flat out AMAZING than Jess and Brad aboard Mahi. Do yourself a favor, and book this trip with them, open your eyes to a whole new level of adventure!

Kim and Peter Neil – 6 days – Abaco
    February 2019

Stop searching and book Sail Mahi now! I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best vacation my husband and I have ever had. We’ve travelled a lot through the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii and the rest of the USA as well as Europe – this trip through the Abacos was stunning and unique. Much of how special it was is due to the excellent care and expertise from Jessica and Captain Brad. They raise the bar in terms of what gold standard hosting looks like. Every detail was taken care of from bathroom amenities, bedroom comfort, and essentials for having a great day on the water. From the moment we stepped aboard we were at ease. Jess and Brad make it easy to assimilate into their marine lifestyle and will give you an authentic Bahamas sailing adventure. We booked this vacation for a special 40th birthday celebration and first escape as new parents. It well surpassed any expectations or dreams we could have had. We felt very spoiled – the food was excellent and they were always conscientious in terms of what we needed next – from drinks to towels to fun excursions. The accommodations were fantastic- we had our own half of the catamaran with a private bath and shower, our own mini fridge, very comfortable bedroom and plenty of storage space for our bags. We loved sitting up on the bow to take in the incredible views and had our meals out on the outer patio deck which was lovely. You can add on a wifi package that works very well if you feel you don’t want to completely disconnect. Sleeping was effortless – they duck in to very calm harbours in the evening so we had no issues at all with motion sickness. They are such experienced sailors and know the area so well we always felt safe and secure onboard. Jess and Brad were also amazing at creating a tailored itinerary just for us, which included a special visit to the pigs for me, and spearfishing, lobster searching for my husband. They anticipated everything – – provided excellent local recommendations on what to see when we went exploring on our own, and even came to find us one evening when we realized that the restaurant we had planned to eat at was closed to make sure we didn’t go hungry. A few considerations for your stay: Pack light – you really don’t need much more than your swimsuits and snorkel masks. They had towels for us to use, wet suits, paddle boards and more. Book early – Their schedule fills up quickly and the more time you give them the more tailored experience they can create for you! Consider the weather – bring a light jacket for evenings and a flexible mindset if the winds have to take you in a different direction. We were completely comfortable leaving our itinerary and stops to Brad and Jess’ expertise and recommendations. They’ve been sailing the Abacos for many years and will create an amazing experience for you no matter what. Surprises await – I won’t tell you what Jess and Brad did throughout the trip to make it extra special, because you’ll have more fun to be surprised yourself! There were so many delightful additions throughout our stay, they truly do think of everything. The trip was worth every penny and every moment of precious time off. We were smiling from ear-to-ear the entire time. I can’t wait to go back again, and your future self will thank you for booking your upcoming vacation with Sail Mahi!

Our experience on Mahi was nothing short of perfection. Seriously. Absolute perfection. Jess and Brad welcomed us at the marina with big smiles that could only make sense once you’ve sailed with them. From the minute we stepped aboard Mahi, we knew we were in for the adventure of a lifetime. The boat itself is incredibly beautiful and so clearly loved. The sleeping quarters are comfortable and the shower is big! We wanted for nothing. Jess and Brad are salt of the earth humans. Their eyes are wide open to the beauty of the earth and living their time on it to the fullest. During our 6 day cruise about we explored, relaxed, and ate delicious meals and could have easily done it for another 6+. We kept laughing about how just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, it did just that. If we thought about needing a snack, Jess had one made before we would even ask. When Brad saw our glasses were empty, he refreshed them for us while simultaneously telling us a wonderful sailing tale. Between Jess and Brad’s experience we always felt safe and well looked after. At every Cay we visited there were other cruisers who were excited to see our hosts and made us feel like part of the cruising family. The combination of beautiful Mahi, warm hosts, and the undeniable game changer that is the Bahamas made for a charter we will never ever ever forget. Both my husband and I found ourselves crying tears of happiness and gratitude as we hugged Jess and Brad goodbye and disembarked Mahi. Life is too short not to take an adventure like this. We will absolutely be back.
